“Music is a universal language that everyone should have access to.”
Ha Bui is a classical pianist whose interest lies in the intersection between Western classical music and its influence on modern society. With a belief that music is a universal language, Ha believes every member of the general public should get access to classical music. As a solo pianist, she enjoys playing works from composers who were traditionally underrepresented in order to broaden the scope of classical music and challenge the conventional practice of it. In recent years, she has also been expanding her work into chamber music, collaborating with other instrumentalists to explore the power of ensemble playing.
A recent graduate from the Manhattan School of Music under the tutelage of Daniel Epstein, she appeared as the runner-up for Dora Zalavsky Koch Concerto Competition in 2024, and on the Dean’s list for many semesters. She had also performed at the Hanoi Opera House and the Concert Hall at the Vietnam National Academy of Music.
Ha is currently based in Ho Chi Minh City, working as a piano teacher at the Soul Institute of the Arts. She is also an active pianist who loves giving performances at non-traditional venues in order to spread Western classical music to a wider audience, strengthening her belief that music is a universal language.
